Running from Friday August 14th to Sunday September 6th 2020, this year’s Vuelta actually starts in Utrecht Netherlands. Although I have raced in Spain many moons ago and I’ve been to a few races in the country, this will be my first Vuelta and I am very much looking forward to it. It’s known as the party Grand Tour so it sounds like it was made for me. Strangely, this year’s event doesn’t travel to the southern part of the country at all.

I haven’t finalised what is the best section to follow but my mates who live in Spain and advise me on such things, reckon that the middle week is the best.   

So tentatively I’m looking at Sunday August 9 the day of the Tourmalet finish to join the race and stay through to the mountain stage to Alto de l’Angliru.
